A very unusual 14K gold Lepine by Tissot for L.M. Lilpop Warsaw, Royal watchmaker, circa 1915. A 14 K gold, all three lids gold, punched, serial number 79838, dome with inscription “Fabrique Specialment Pour L.M.Lilpop a Varsovie, Fournisseur de Sa Majesté, Ch.J. Tissot & FIls, Locle, No.979838”, gilt lever movement, large bimetallic screw balance, blued Breguet hairspring, fine adjusting device, lever escapement, rubies, blued steel screws, winding wheels with sunburst decoration, time setting and winding with crown, very beautiful and rare original gilt metal dial, engine turned, dark blue Arabic numerals “Art Nouveau” style, subsidiary seconds, signed dial L. N. Lilpop, gilt hands, beautiful Art Nouveau case, middle section reeded, back with sun ray decoration and blank cartouche in the lower part, case in very good condition, movement, in very good condition, exceptional dial with slight signs of use, collector’s watch, ca. 1915.
