An extremely fine anker chronometer, possibly an observatory chronometer, made by Auguste Savoye & Fils in  Genève, Switzerland, circa 1890. This watch features a numbered case crafted from 18 carat gold with a blue enamel monogram “ES” on the back lid. The enamel dial features red Arabic numerals for the 13–24 hour display and black Roman numerals for the 1–12 hour display, along with a central seconds track with red Arabic 5 second numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, a 30 minute counter at 12 o’clock and steel hands. The exquisite chronometer movement is equipped with a lever escapement, wolf’s toothing and a chronograph.
The movement is signed.

Auguste Savoye was a manufacturer of the finest precision movements in Geneva and among other things, a regleur at Patek Philippe and at the Geneva Observatory. Only a few fine chronometers created by him are known to exist.
