A very fine Swiss, thin and elegant, minute repeating, 18K yellow gold keyless dress watch, circa 1930. Retailed by Cartier. A polished case. The interior of the back cover with engraved dedication. Brushed silver dial with applied polished yellow gold Arabic quarter-hour numerals and baton indexes, outer dot minute track, subsidiary seconds. Yellow gold alpha hands. A rhodium-plated, Geneva striping decoration, 29 jewels, some in screwed gold chatons, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with eight adjustments, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Dial signed for Cartier, movement signed by Meylan. Property of an American Lady.
