Gold open faced verge pocket watch

A fine French gold and enamel open faced verge pocket watch, circa 1790. Louis XVI case, the back with a finely painted enamel scene of two maidens in a landscape, gold paillon border, the bezel decorated with a gold repeated laurel and berry pattern. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions, Arabic quarter-hour numerals and gold pierced hands. A frosted gilt full plate movement, fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, three-arm brass balance with flat balance spring, continental balance cock with steel endplate, silver regulation dial. Dial and movement signed.
