Gold open faced keyless lever watch with minute repeater
–
A fine Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch with minute repeating complication, made by Patek Philippe in Geneva, circa 1930. It has a mechanical crown winding movement with a lever escapement and a minute repeater mechanism striking two gongs, activated by a slide on the band, signed Patek Philippe & Co. The silver plated dial shows gold coloured Arabic numerals for the hours, a railway minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and gold Breguet style hands. The timepiece is housed in a smooth polished round three body, 18 carat solid yellow gold open faced lepine case with a smooth bezel and back cover, a fluted winding crown, and a distinctive angular suspension bow.
