–
A very fine Swiss 18 carat gold open faced Louis XV pocket chronometer, circa 1875. The watch features a high-quality pivoted detent chronometer movement, possibly designed by Louis Audemars. It has gold wheels and wolf’s toothing. The cuvette is inscribed with the word Chronometre. The white enamel Louis XV dial has Roman hours and Arabic minutes, a subsidiary seconds display and rose gold hands. The case back is engraved with a reeded band. The case is numbered, and the cuvette is signed.
