A rare, heavy Swiss 18K red gold keyless pocket watch with a chronograph in top Geneva quality, circa 1890. The timepiece features a rare calibre with special fine adjustment and matching numbers with the case. The 18K gold case is engine-turned, a-goutte style, artfully engraved and adorned with an enamelled monogram JL on the reverse, and factory glazing. The enamel dial displays Roman radial hours, an outer minutes/seconds track with Arabic numerals at five-minute/second intervals, a subsidiary dial for the seconds, a centre chronograph hand, and blued steel pear hands. The case is signed and numbered.
