A gentleman’s Geneva pocket watch with Patek Philippe certificate and wooden box with inlaid bone shield, circa 1914. Made for the chronometer maker August Ericsson St. Petersburg.
18 Carat gold polished case with engraved monogram AE, and a signed and numbered gold dome with engraving: A. Ericsson, St. Petersburg. Signed enamel dial with Arabic numerals, auxiliary seconds, and blued spade hands. Rhodium-plated bridge movement with Geneva Striping decoration, 8 adj., 20 jewels, wolf teeth winding wheels, gold screw compensation balance, index spring fine adjusting device, and counterpoised lever.

August Ericsson was a well-reputed Swedish watchmaker and retailer having his business in St. Petersburg, starting 1865 died 1915. He used the only top-of-the-line movements like Ullusse Nardin, IWC Longines and even Victor Kullberg in his pocket watches and ship’s chronometers. Delivered watches to the Tsar and his family and the Russian Navy.
