A Swiss 18 carat pink gold five-minute repeating keyless pocket watch, circa 1894. Accompanied by a fitted box. Retailed by Spaulding, Chicago. A polished case, hinged back and bezel and a hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with black dauphine numerals, outer minute track with red-painted Arabic five-minute numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and pink gold Louis XV hands. Nickle-plated movement with Geneva striping decoration, 29 jewels, counterpoised straight-line counterpoised lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometre regulator. Movement and dial signed Patek Philippe, case stamped, movement and case signed Spaulding & Co. Chicago.
