A very fine, 18K yellow gold Swiss, Chronometro Gondolo, keyless pocket watch, circa 1915. Made for Gondolo & Laboriau, Relojoeiros, Rio de Janeiro. An engine-turned case back, hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track with five-minute Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds. Yellow gold spade hands.

A frosted gilt movement, patented bridge calibre, 21 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, gold wheel train, straight-line moustache lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, Wilmot’s patented micrometre cam regulator. Dial, case and movement signed.
