A fine Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch, circa 1883. It has a hand wound mechanical movement with a lever escapement. The white enamel dial shows black Roman numerals for the hours, an outer minute track with red Arabic numerals from 5 to 60, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and gold hands. The timepiece is housed in an 18 carat yellow gold open faced case with a numbered inner cover. It features a fluted winding crown, a sturdy round suspension bow, and a solid 18 carat gold inner dust cover engraved Donné par mon grand-père 26 avril 1883.
