Gold open faced keyless lever watch

A fine Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced dress pocket watch made by IWC Schaffhausen, circa 1950. This elegant timepiece has a mechanical crown winding movement with a lever escapement, calibre c.952. It is beautifully finished with separate bridges, a swan neck micrometre regulator, and rubies set in chatons. The champagne coloured dial features applied gold baton hour markers, outer minute dots, a crosshair subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and sleek gold baton hands. The watch is housed in an 18 carat solid yellow gold thin profile open faced case, reference 5200. The case back has a perlage finished interior stamped with the IWC Probus Scafusia hallmark. It also features a fluted winding crown and a sturdy round suspension bow.
