–
A large anker chronometer in its original presentation box, specially made for Theodor Wolff in Berlin, Germany, by Patek Philippe in Geneva, Switzerland, circa 1886. Crafted from 18 carat gold, the open faced case has an engraved decoration on the back. The white enamel dial features Arabic hour numerals, outer minute divisions, a sunk subsidiary dial for the seconds at 6 o’clock and blued steel spade hands. The movement boasts an early anker chronometer escapement with a particularly large chronometer balance and wolf’s teeth.
The dial, cuvette and presentation box are signed, and the cuvette also bears the inscription Th. Wolff Berlin royal court watchmaker Unter den Linden 61. This makes the watch a truly unique piece of horological history.
