Ultra flat Art Deco dress watch with 19 jewels
–
An exquisite ultra flat Art Deco dress watch with a platinum case and numbered, made by Audemars Piguet in Genéve, Switzerland, circa 1935. The original platinum open faced case bears a gift dedication from 1936, adding a touch of sentimentality to its history. The back of the case is engraved with the letters SD, perhaps indicating the initials of a previous owner. The watch features an original Breguet silver dial that has stood the test of time. The original hands complement its classic design. Underneath the dial lies a movement of exceptional quality. The precision lever escapement is of “ultra flat” calibre, and the golden wheels and Geneva striping further exemplify the meticulous craftsmanship that went into creating this masterpiece. With 19 jewels and regulation in 8 positions, this movement ensures accurate timekeeping and reliability. The case and movement bear matching numbers, and the case is signed.
