A Swiss brass keyless chronometer with 36 hour power reserve, made by Longines in Saint- Imier, circa 1935. An open faced, keyless, precision counter clock with a screwed bezel, mounted on a stand in a mahogany two body hinged rectangular shaped box, with stop seconds feature for exact setting at 4 o’clock. A silvered dial, Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds at 6 and one horological complication: 36 hour power reserve indication, sector at 12 o’clock. A gilded brass movement, going barrel, gold screwed chatons, straight line lever escapement, compensated brass Invar Guillaume balance and blued steel hairspring with terminal curve, polished steel index regulator with swanneck spring and precision regulating device for fast/slow by means of an eccentric snail. Signature on the dial, case and movement.
