Gold pocket chronometer with one minute tourbillon

An exceptionally fine and rare Swiss 18 carat yellow gold hunting cased key wound pocket chronometer with one minute tourbillon made by Girard-Perregaux in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, Circa 1875. Accompanied by a 30 cm gold chain, a key and the original fitted wooden box.
The engine turned case with a central crest on the front, the band and bezels decoratively engraved, the inside of the front cover and case back also elaborately engine turned in a wavy pattern, a gold hinged cuvette. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, an outer minute track with Arabic five minute markers, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and blued steel Fleur-de-Lys hands.
Nickel movement with patented three parallel bridges, the pillar plate finely damascened on both sides, a going barrel damascened in a circular pattern, 19 jewels of which the top ones on gold chatons, a Guinand type 2 tourbillon with a pivoted detent escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring with amplitude safety device and a gold going train including the stationary third wheel.
