An important Swiss splendour hunting cased pocket watch, pivoted detent chronometer with triple calendar, moon phase, chronograph and minute repeater, circa 1890. Made for M. J. Pack Bombay.
18K gold, à-goutte, extremely magnificently engraved, hunting case of fantastic quality, with case punch J & Co. in Maltese cross, and both lids with horse motifs. Dome signed and inscribed Chronometer. Enamel dial with Roman radial hours, outer minutes/seconds track with Arabic five minutes/seconds numerals, auxiliary seconds with moon phase at 6, three subsidiary dials for indications of the weekday, month and date, centre chronograph and pink gold Louis XV-style hands. Very fine and highly complicated Swiss precision lever movement, chronometer with helical hairspring, minute repeater, chronograph, triple calendar and moon phase, movement number 593, and probably calibre Ditisheim.
