Gold keyless pocket watch with automaton

A fine and unusual Swiss 14 carat yellow gold hunting cased keyless quarter repeating pocket watch with automaton, circa 1890. Made for the Russian market. Engine-turned covers, the front with black cartouche, hinged gold cuvette with inscription. Frosted gilt dial with multi-coloured painted on enamel scene depicting a couple striking a bell at the top, in the centre, black-enamelled subsidiary dials for the hours, minutes, and seconds with gold paillon Arabic numerals, gilt feuille hands. Nickel-silver movement, 19 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, repeating on gongs by activating slide on the band.
