An exquisite and very rare dress watch made by Vacheron & Constantin in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1940. The numbered plain open faced case of this watch is crafted from 18 carat pink gold and the two tone dial has an outer ring with gold Arabic hour numerals, inner minute/second divisions, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and pink gold hands. The numbered top quality precision movement with caliber 439/6c has Geneva striping decoration, a special fine temperature adjusting device, 17 jewels and a lever escapement. Case, dial and movement signed.
