A fine and rare, elegant Swiss 18 carat gold open faced keyless dress watch made by Longines in Geneva, circa 1940. The rhodium plated movement with Geneva striping decoration, 17 jewels, a straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring and cam micrometer regulator. An as-new two tone silvered dial with concentric hour and minute tracks, black Arabic quarter hour numerals, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and blued steel pierced lozenge hands. The polished case features an inclined bezel, its band chased with laurel leaves and flowers, and with an engine turned line decorated snap on back. Dial and case, movement signed and numbered.
