Fine 18K gold keyless lever watch
–
A fine and rare Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced dress pocket watch made by Patek Philippe, circa 1940. It has a high grade keyless wind manual movement with a rhodium plated finish, counter balanced lever escapement, bimetallic compensation balance, and a counter pivoted escape wheel, signed Patek Philippe & Co. Genève. The matte silvered dial features applied yellow gold Roman numerals at the quarters, lapidated gold bullet style indexes for the remaining hours, an outer minute track, a subsidiary small seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and gold baton hands. The dial bears a crisp Patek Philippe signature beneath the 12 o’clock marker. The timepiece is housed in a sleek three body, 18 carat solid yellow gold open face case with a polished bezel, satin finished down turned crown protection, a fluted winding crown, and a sturdy square shaped suspension bow.
–
The watch comes with a matching 18 carat yellow gold pocket watch chain (40 gr), featuring elongated anker links, a classic swivel clasp, and a substantial spring ring terminal.
