Lady’s size pocket watch set with emeralds

An extremely rare pocket chronometer ‘Gondolo’ in lady’s size, made by Patek, Philippe & Cie in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1912. The numbered open faced case of this watch is crafted from 18 Carat gold, its back is set with emeralds and the cuvette has an inscription in Brazilian Portuguese: “Lembrança de seu Pae, Rio de Janeiro, 6 de Julho 1912, José A. de Souza (“Remembering your father, Rio de Janeiro 1912, José A. de Souza”). The white enamel dial has an outer ring with black Arabic numerals for the minutes (outside) en black Roman numerals for the hours (inside), a subsidiary seconds dial at six o’clock, an inscription in Brazilia Portuguese “Lembrança de seu pae” (“Remembering your father”) and pink gold hands. The movement is numbered and of the ‘Chronometer’ type with the typical gold wheels, has a fine adjusting device and a moustache lever escapement.
Dial and movement are signed.
