Gilt key winding pocket watch by Marchand
–
A very early Swiss single-handed Geneva Oignon with central winding, circa 1690. The watch case is made of gilt and covered with black leather. It features an exceptionally early Oignon movement from around 1690, with a single hand and central winding mechanism. The movement stands out with its large and magnificent balance bridge and an early hairspring. The enamel dial has old hairlines and is adorned with bold radial Roman numerals on the chapter ring. The inner half and quarter-hour ring and the steel hour pointer complete the dial. The watch is in working order.
