A fine Swiss 18K Mido Art Deco watch with polychrome champlevé enamel Japanese decor, circa 1930. Movement rhodium-plated, with going barrel, straight-line lever escapement, compensated balance and blued steel hairspring with terminal curve.

18 Carat yellow gold and enamel case, open faced, keyless winding, heptagonal-shaped, Art Deco pocket watch, snap-on case back, subsidiary seconds at 6, gilded dial with black enamelled numerals Case back with polychrome champlevé enamel showing a stylised Japanese garden with a cherry tree, the Prunus serrulata, which symbolises the return of Spring thanks to its generous bloom. Movement signed.
