A large Swiss gold/enamel pocket watch with pearl setting, and musical movement that activates on the hour, circa 1860-1880. Made for the Chinese market.
Gold enamel case, both sides set with half pearls, back with elaborate enamel painting, and punched with a Chinese punch and two letters L & C. Enamel dial with centre seconds, Roman radial hours, outer minutes/seconds track with Arabic fifteen minutes/seconds numerals, and beautiful gold hands. Fine cylinder movement, musical movement, hour repeating.
