A fine and elegant Swiss, gold, enamel, pearls and rubies set lady’s key-wind butterfly form pendant watch, circa 1840-1850.
This exquisite timepiece features a butterfly-shaped gold case with wings adorned with translucent blue and yellow enamel on the front and polychrome painted enamel on the back, resembling the vibrant colours of a real butterfly. The wings are further embellished with pearls and rubies, adding to its luxurious appeal. The central body of the butterfly has an enamel dial with Breguet-style radial hours, an outer minutes track with fifteen minutes numerals, and elegant gold hands. The crown of the watch is designed to resemble the butterfly’s antenna.
