Fine and rare gold chronograph watch with central register
–
A fine and rare Swiss18 pink gold hunting cased chronograph watch with central register, circa 1890, nickel lever movement, 23 jewels.
White enamel dial, Roman numerals, subsidiary dial for constant seconds, central gold hand for central register, case with engraved crest to the back cover, case, cuvette, dial and movement signed.
–
Diameter: 51 mm
–
Signed: Patek Philippe
–
Accompanied by the Certificate of Origin dated 1898 an original fitted wooden box, original numbered crystal and mainspring. Further accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming sale in 1898.

The central register is quite unusual for Patek Philippe timepieces from this time period. Rather than a subsidiary dial indicating the passing minutes, the central hand in gold registers the passing of the minutes. To the best of our knowledge, only two watches with this layout have been offered at auction.
