A very fine and rare Swiss, minute-repeating, 18K gold and enamel keyless dress watch, circa 1909. Sold to Haman & Co., St. Paul, Minneapolis on June 3rd, 1914.  Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives. A polished case, the back cover decorated in enamel with the Putnam coat of arms and motto, black enamel and gold flower and swag border, the bezel decorated to match. Hinged gold cuvette with engraved dedication.

Cream enamel dial with Breguet numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel spade hands. A rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 31 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with eight adjustments, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometre regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Dial, case and movement signed.
