A fine Swiss 18 carat gold, enamel and diamond-set beetle-form lady’s keyless cylinder pendant watch with concealed dial, circa 1890. The case with spring-loaded wings, translucent aqua blue enamel over the engine turning and set with rose-cut diamonds, opening to reveal the dial, the neck black enamelled and set with diamonds, rose-cut emerald eyes, a hinged realistically cast and chased underside. A glazed cuvette. White enamel dial with radial blue Arabic numerals and red 12, gilt dot outer minute track and blued steel spade hands. A gilt movement, bar calibre, eight jewels, cylinder escapement, three-arm gilt balance, flat balance spring and an index regulator.
