A fine Swiss 14 carat yellow gold hunting cased quarter repeating pocket watch with chronograph and full calendar complications, circa 1890. This watch has a mechanical crown winding manual movement with a lever escapement featuring partially screwed chatons, a stop function activation mechanism, and a quarter repeating mechanism striking the hours and quarters on steel springs. The white enamel dial shows black Roman numerals for the hours, an outer railway minute track calibrated to fifths of a second, a central blued steel chronograph seconds hand, a subsidiary seconds dial integrated with a moon phase indicator at 6 o’clock, a day of the week register at 9 o’clock, a date register at 3 o’clock, and a month register at 12 o’clock, completed with gold spade hands.
–
The timepiece is housed in a substantial 14 carat yellow gold full hunter savonette case with a polished hinged protective front cover adorned with moss guilloché engraving, a fluted winding crown, a chronograph push piece, and a sturdy round suspension bow.
