A fine large Swiss gold open faced pocket watch with a quarter-hour repeater and musical mechanism, circa 1840.
Bridge movement, two hammers / two gongs, musical mechanism sur plateau with pin disc and vibrating blades, mirror-polished levers for musical mechanism, cylinder escapement, and three-armed ring balance. Enamel dial with Breguet-style radial hours, outer minutes track, and Breguet-style hands. Engine-turned 18K red gold case, at the 8 o’clock position on the outside of the housing, there is a small lever for triggering or immobilizing the musical mechanism.
