An excellent Swiss, 18K pink gold minute repeating pocket watch, circa 1895. Hunting cased keyless watch accompanied by a fitted Patek Philippe box. Made for Merrick, Walsh and Phelps, St. Louis, MO. A polished case with reeded edges and a hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with radial Arabic numerals, outer minute track with red Arabic five-minute markers, subsidiary seconds with red Arabic numerals and gold Louis XVI hands. Rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 23 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with gold timing screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Dial, movement and cuvette signed, cuvette and case numbered.
