Gentleman’s open faced watch with centre seconds

A gentleman’s important and heavy gold precision pocket watch with spring detent escapement and centre seconds, sold to Louis Dollfus on May 31, 1924 with certificate No. 4339, circa 1924.
18k gold case, polished, à goutte, gold dome. Enamel dial, radial Roman numerals, centre seconds, blued Breguet hands. Bridge movement, ébauche by Pitou, rhodium-plated, “fausses côtes” decoration, wolfteeth winding wheels, Guillaume gold screw compensation balance, spring detent escapement, freesprung, blued, helical hairspring with terminal curves, steel set ruby endstone on balance and steel chronometer wheel.

Spring detend pocket chronometers were rarly fitted with central  seconds, this example is of very individual construction and contained in a massive and large gold case.
This watch was part of the famous Habsburg/Antiquorum auction “The Art of Breguet” in the year 1991
