A fine Swiss, 18K pale pink gold hunting cased, quarter repeating, a keyless pocket watch with automaton Jacks, circa 1895. The case with engine-turned covers, polished band. Gold hinged cuvette overglazed gold bezel to view the movement. Small off-white enamel dial, radial Roman numerals separated by gold paillons, outer gold paillon minute divisions, subsidiary seconds, flanked by two knights appearing to repeat the hours and quarters on bells, the whole on a translucent Imperial blue guilloché enamel ground. Gold Louis XV hands. A frosted gilt movement, 19 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with blued steel Breguet balance spring, repeating on gongs activated by a slide in the band. Case stamped with maker’s trademark registered on April 4, 1892.
