Gold, enamel, and pearl duplex watch

A beautiful Swiss 18 carat gold and enamel, watch with centre seconds, circa 1840. Bouquet of flowers by Voumard, Le Locle made for the Chinese market. The back is finely painted with a bouquet of flowers on a blue enamel background, half-pearl set bezels, the band and pendant decorated with light blue champlevé enamel to match the back, pendant and bow, gold spring-loaded 18 carat gold cuvette hinged to the movement ring. White enamel dial, radial Roman numerals, outer minute and seconds divisions with fifteen-minute/seconds Arabic markers and gold poire hands. Gilt Chinese calibre, fully engraved movement, jewelled to the third wheel, standing barrel, duplex escapement, bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. Movement signed.
