A large, fine and heavy Schaffhausen hunting cased pocket watch with IWC extract from the archives, circa 1894. Sold on July 17, 1894 to Grosjean Frères company in Berlin.
14 carat pink gold case, polished, à goutte, with engine-turned gold dome and glazed movement. Enamel dial with Arabic “Empire” numerals, auxiliary seconds and Louis XV hands. 2/3 plate movement, frosted, gilt, with screwed gold chatons, screw compensation balance and index spring fine adjusting device.

Grosjean Frères Swiss watch manufactory
Arnold Grosjean and his brother Charles Constant Grosjean founded the company Grosjean & Cie. in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1857. In 1878 the company opened a branch in Koenigsberg under the name of Grosjean Frères & Co, which moved to Berlin in 1891. The Grosjean brothers led their company until 1888; it was taken over by Eggli & Spuehler in 1910.
