–
An extraordinary Swiss minute repeating Carillon pocket watch in a Niello-silver case, circa 1820.
The Niello silver case is lavishly florally decorated and has a case maker’s punch mark DLM, a gold dome with monogram AJ, and foliate decor. The enamel dial has Arabic hours and gold Breguet hands. And the frosted gilt full plate movement is keywind and has three hammers / three gongs, one barrel for going train, one open barrel for striking train, a cylinder escapement with steel cylinder wheel, and a three-arm gold balance and regulation with bimetallic temperature compensation slat.
