–
A very fine, pink gold numbered chronograph ‘Compteur’, made by Longines in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, circa 1915.
The open faced plain case is crafted from 18 Carat pink gold and the dust cover is engraved with medals from five ‘Grand Prix’ in Paris (2x), Anvers, Milan and Bruxelles. The white enamel dial has an outer ring with black Arabic numerals for the minutes and the hours, a subsidiary seconds dial at six o’clock, a dial that counts the minutes at twelve o’clock and the original pink gold hands. The special quality movement quality has Geneva striping, a rare fine adjusting device, an Anker chronometer, a main plate additionally inscribed W.Y.B. and an intermediate wheel chronograph with 30 minutes counter.
Dial and movement are signed.
