Unsigned gold hunting cased chronograph watch
–
A Swiss gold hunting cased quarter repeating chronograph watch with concealed erotic automaton, circa 1890. This timepiece features a nickel movement with intricately engraved plates, a lever escapement, a bimetallic compensation balance, and a blued steel spring with overcoil. The dial is white enamel with Roman numerals, an outer ring for minutes/chronograph seconds, sunken subsidiary seconds dial, and filigree hands.
–
The 18k pink gold case has a unique bark finish engraved decoration, a milled band, a hand-setting lever beneath the bezel, and a polished gold cuvette with personalised engraving and the mark DK within a rectangular cartouche. Upon opening the cuvette, an ecclesiastical scene with applied polychrome enamel painted figures of a nun with two amorous men is revealed, with the right-hand gentleman automated. The timepiece also features a slide to engage/disengage the scene from the repeating work, as well as Swiss hallmarks, and is numbered 2886 on the case and cuvette.

–
The movement is running but would benefit from a service. The chronograph mechanism is operational; however, the chronograph’s seconds hand is a bit jumpy. The repeating work and automata are also operational. The erotic scene appears to be in good condition. The dial has some scratches, and the case decoration remains well-defined.
