A fine and rare Swiss, 18K yellow gold, keyless Chronometro Gondolo with 24-hour dial, circa 1909. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives. Retailed by Gondolo & Laboriau, Relojoeiros, Rio-de-Janeiro. An engine-turned case, the back with a foliate monogram. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with radial Arabic numerals, red chapters 6-12-18-0 (24), outer minute track and subsidiary seconds. Gold spade hands. A gilt brass movement, gold wheel train, 21 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, straight-line lever escapement à moustaches, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring with Patek Philippe patented micrometric index. Dial, case and movement signed. Property of a Japanese Gentleman.
