Silver open faced  Jacquemarts watch

A fine Swiss silver quarter repeating pocket watch with automaton Jaquemarts, Swiss, circa 1820. Empire, engine-turned. Gilt brass cuvette. Silver dial, engine turned, with radial Roman numerals on a small chapter ring, varicolored gold and painted blackamoor jacks to each side appearing to strike two bells above, grassy base with two recumbent dogs. Blued steel Scotties hands. Gilt brass full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance with flat balance spring. Gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece. Repeating on gongs activated by depressing the pendant.
