A deck chronometer with power reserve indicator, made by Vacheron & Constantin in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1940. The numbered open faced case of this watch was crafted from silver and the original silvered dial has Arabic hour numerals, a large subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, a power reserve indicator and blued steel hands. The numbered chronometer movement has a fine adjusting device, Geneva striping decoration and a lever escapement.
Dial and movement are signed.

These deck chronometers with power reserve indicator are extremely rare, probably only 150 of them were delivered to the navy as “navigation watches”. Another example of these watches was sold in Geneva in 2014 for CHF 16.000.
