Silver gilt watch with centre seconds

A very fine Swiss gilded silver, enamel and pearl set open faced center second pocket watch with Jacot duplex escapement made for the Chinese market, circa 1870. Early Summer Bouquet by Bovet. An Empire case, the back enamel panel finely painted with a bouquet of early summer flowers over a blue ground, the bezels, pendant and bow set with split pearls. Gilt rimmed glazed cuvette hinged to the movement ring. White enamel dial with narrow radial Roman numerals, outer minute and seconds divisions with Arabic fifteen minute numerals, blued steel ovoid hands. Mirror polished steel movement, Chinese caliber with a free standing barrel, Jacot duplex escapement, bi metallic compensation balance with blued steel wings, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator.
Dial and movement signed, case signed in Chinese characters.
