Pocket watch with engine turned silver case
–
An extremely rare chronometer with electrical contact device, made by Ulysse Nardin in le Locle, Switzerland, circa 1880. The open faced case of this watch is crafted from silver, has the Ulysse Nardin case hallmark, a bezel marked “contact” and an engine turned back with an empty cartouche. The white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o‘clock and blued steel hands. The movement has a very fine anker chronometer escapement with Geneva striping and a fine adjustment.
Case and movement with matching numbers and dial and movement signed.
