A Swiss gilt metal and tortoiseshell pair-cased verge pocket watch, circa 1790. The watch features a gilt full plate movement with verge escapement, a plain flat three-arm balance, and a pierced and engraved balance cock, and is signed: Lydia Heritage, September 4, 1797. It also includes an enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, an outer minutes track, and Cathedral hands. The watch has two cases: a gilt metal inner case and a gilt metal and tortoiseshell outer case. A winding key is included with the watch.

The tortoiseshell case is intact with a small fissure near the hinge, and one decorative pin is missing. The dial is chipped at 8 and 2.
