A Swiss gilded copper pocket watch with a painted enamel scene, circa 1790. The watch features a full plate gilt verge movement, a beautiful enamel dial and a gilded copper case with a fine polychrome enamel painted scene on the back. The watchmaker is J.C. Scherer, whose signature can be found on the dial and the works and the case maker’s mark, LETON, is located inside the case.
