Gold enamel and pearl set watch by Pan
–
A charming Swiss gold enamel verge pocket watch made in Geneva for the Chinese market, circa 1840. This timepiece features an 18 Carat gold case adorned with half pearls. It has an enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, and blued Breguet style hands. The full plate movement includes a verge escapement, chain/fusee, and a three arm brass balance.
–
The clock is impressive due to its delicate size and beautiful decoration. The back of the clock features a finely painted enamel medallion that is of the highest quality. The medallion showcases a filigree floral composition of roses, dahlias, poppies, forget me nots, and other summer flowers on a translucent red engine turned background. The bezels on both sides are set with half pearls, while the pendant and temple are decorated with champlevé enamel.
