A Swiss very fine and rare gentleman’s Geneva quarter repeating pocket watch, with original mahogany box and original certificate, circa 1905. Delivered to Musy Father and Sons, jeweller to the court in Turin.
18 Carat rose gold, polished, à goutte case; the backside with a polychrome enamelled coat of arms with crown and motto: IL FAVT VOIRE FRANGAR NON FLECTAR (You have to see – I am broken, I am not deflected); gold dome with signature: MUSY PADRE E FIGLI, TORINO; and a slide for repeating mechanism. Signed enamel dial with radial Roman hours, red 24-hour Arabic numerals, red Arabic auxiliary seconds and blued spade hands. Signed, rhodium-plated, bridge movement with Geneva Striping, two hammers / two gongs, gold screw compensation balance, index spring fine adjusting device and counterpoised lever.
