Gold open faced keyless lever watch with minute repeater
–
A fine Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch with minute repeating complication made by Patek Philippe in Geneva, circa 1905. This watch has a mechanical crown winding nickel plated movement with a decorative finish, a lever escapement, and a minute repeater mechanism striking on two gongs, activated by a slide on the band, signed Patek Philippe. The white enamel dial shows elegant black Arabic numerals for the hours, outer red 5 to 60 five minute numerals, an outer railway minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and gold Louis XVI style hands. The timepiece is housed in a polished round three body, 18 carat solid yellow gold open faced lepine case featuring an engraved monogram on the back cover and an inner presentation inscription, with a fluted winding crown and a sturdy round suspension bow.
