Gold lever gentlemen’s watch

A very fine and very rare Swiss 18 carat gold open faced pocket watch made by Robert Brandt & Compagnie, circa 1840. Accompanied by the original fitted presentation box. The case has an entirely foliate and floral engraved back, polished bezel and a coin edged band. The hinged gold cuvette is engraved with foliage and the technical details. White enamel dial with a meantime dial in the lower half featuring radial Roman hour numerals, outer minute divisions and gold spade hands, large retrograde seconds with
a blued steel hand in the upper half, and a blue painted flag with black letter T within. The matte gilt movement has 10 jewels, a counterpoised lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, flat balance spring and an index regulator.
The cuvette is signed.
